He got the whole world in his hands.

This is an adidas advertisment used by the company to make their slogan "impossible is nothing" true. We see how slowly as the song progresses, more and more people just pile on top of the guy and he doesn't even feel a single bit of stress. What's more interesting is the song being played at the background, "he got the whole world in his hands". He literally had one whole bunch of people in his hands.

But i guess what can be gotten out from this advertisment is not only the humor but some lessons as well. Communication can be both verbal and non verbal and over here, is of course non verbal.

It is obvious what the company wants to tell the people by coming up with this ad. In my perspective, is to use their products and support them and that is Logos. At the same time, there is also an emotional appeal which is Pathos being used here. At least to me, humor is involved a slight bit in this ad and people are more willing to use their product because of that.

To end off, i think this is quite a brilliant ad cause it involves persuasion techniques that would or might change the perspective of a person when using or considering buying the product. And for this ad, it is a shoe. A shoe that can make the difference from carrying one person to a ton of people.

i really like tis ad and i would have to agree with you tat it matches the what the company is trying to portray. the song in the background also gives us a idea of what is happening in the ad, though many of us may not have expected it to be so literal.

Oh my goodness!
this guy is another version of "Hulk". More and more people are added to his weight, and the best part? He seems to be enjoying it!
Yes, I personally feel that the Adidas company is brilliant to think of this ad, it is subtle but anyone who just saw it, would say that the message intended was powerful.
However, I would also like to add that Ethos is also included in this ad. This is because, the focus of this ad is intended to appeal to the persuasive nature of the consumer's character. I believe that anyone who saw this as, would somehow be coaxed to purchase the shoes. I was..

Well, I would say that this ad has been rather eye catching because of the tricky stunt involved. However, I feel that the producers are persuading the viewers by the ethos approach because the whole ad is focused on the "impossible is nothing" message, which is closely linked to Adidas. In other words, it is convincing people about the superiority of adidas, the brand. It is also a smart way to advertise because throughout the ad, it didn't mention anything about Adidas merchandise, which makes the ad more subtle and less intrusive. I would have to commend the ad makers for their smart advertising techniques!

Trust adidas to come up with the illogical advertisemnet to sell their product! (One guy carrying about 50 people on his shoulder!!) lol! But hey, people tend to remember silliness rather than perfectly ordinary, right? =)
However, even though the advertisemnet is great and everything i don't think that everyone want to buy adidas' product beacuse it's funny, i think it's more because of they trusted adidas' brand as being the best in the market.

p/s: i like their slogan!!
"Impossible is nothing." XD

cheerio!

i will agree that the non verbal communications used here is quite effective, as it basically shows off what is achievable with a pair of adidas sneakers, albeit that being of course an exaggeration.
